Stories and languages: Twi and Hausa for Young Blackademy Learners

Stories and languages is a workshop developed purposely to serve as a medium of continuous transmission of the rich African culture and heritage to children from 6-10 years. The workshop base on two African languages –  the Akan language (or Twi) and Hausa language. It consists of three exciting phases in which:

In the first moment, the instructors (native speakers) will embark on a language trip, during which they will introduce Twi and Hausa languages to early learners, to incite joy while learning a possible additional language of interaction.

Sansakroma, Pilolo and Alansah seed game is another station in the workshop: a fun method to easily practice Twi and Hausa for the early learners. The instructors use the advantage of the flexibility of the young minds and the malleability of their tongues to make language learning a fun experience in a playful way.

Lastly, the program will end with an enticing and educational storytelling time, during which the kids will be exposed to stories from Kwaku Anansi and other stories.

The maximal participant to this workshop is limited to 15.

Workshop materials will be made accessible to participants prior to the beginning.
